Frequently Asked Questions
How will I know if it's right for me?You can arrange an initial session for us to meet. I will answer your questions and explain how I work. This initial meeting will last around 30 minutes, and may help you to decide whether counselling feels right for you. I do not charge for this meeting, regardless of what you decide.
How long is a session?Sessions usually last for just under an hour, although this is negotiable.
How much does it cost?An hour's session costs £35, payable at the time of the session in cash or cheque (supported with a current bankers' card). I do not have the facility to accept cards.
Where is relational space?Relational space is based in pleasant central Plymouth premises, but I can usually arrange alternative venues if required.
Will what I say be confidential?Yes, subject to a few potential restrictions (for example, imposed by law). We can discuss this when we meet if you would like to, or at any time during our relationship. I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by its Ethical Framework.
What time can I get an appointment?I can offer flexible appointment times, including evenings and weekends.
What if I need to cancel my appointment?Appointments can be cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours before appointment time. If you cancel within 24 hours, I may charge.
Any other questions? Please contact us. I will be pleased to answer your questions.
